How to be involved

Correspondence
Most Ukrainian students choose English for their foreign language studies. Having a Ukrainian penpal is a great way to encourage young people and to make connections with believers from across the world. Many members of the Ternopil Church of Christ are fluent in English and are willing to help with translation of letters, too. Contact us if you are interested in this opportunity.

Contributions
God has greatly blessed the SWFC work over the past 40 years with many generous donors and ministry partners. Their contributions have helped to finance the radio ministry which was the foundation of its outreach, the printing equipment used to publish materials in the Ukrainian language and a wonderful church building located in a prime area at the corner of the Old Park in Ternopil. SWFC continues to provide support for the maintenance and improvement of this facility and to help support mission and evangelistic efforts in western Ukraine.

Brett and Alicia White, missionaries who previously served in Sumy, a city in far eastern Ukraine, are currently serving in Ternopil with a 2-year commitment. Their sponsorship and support is facilitated by SWFC.

Periodically, special contributions are made to provide for humanitarian efforts and for benevolence. Despite its progress, Ukraine continues to face serious economic difficulties and many of the church members in Ternopil are affected. The Christians there strive to practice the "true religion" mentioned in James 1 by providing for widows and orphans and SWFC is privileged to help with these efforts.

Trips to Ukraine
Those who have visited the Christians in Ternopil have invariably returned spiritually invigorated and with a passion for the growth of this ministry. Those with gifts of spiritual teaching and counseling have made a great impact on the health and growth of the church there. In addition, a number of families have been able to visit, providing godly examples and assisting with ministries such as the annual VBS. As part of the SWFC commitment to fostering outreach and spiritual maturity, periodic trips by qualified Bible teachers are arranged to assist those in spiritual leadership and provide foundational teaching to the congregation.

Prayer
We depend on God's grace and wisdom in all aspects of the SWFC ministry. Whenever the work of the Lord is being done, both here and in Ukraine, the only success is through God's blessing, protection and guidance. We are grateful for those who faithfully lift this ministry to the Lord in prayer. In addition to the regular newsletter sent by SWFC, the Ternopil Church website is a good resource to stay informed about how to pray for the believers there.
